“Tumeamua kuendesha mafunzo haya kwa sababu tunao watu ambao ni wanufaika wa mradi wa ‘Soap Making Project’ kwa ufadhili wa Shirika la Tanzania Development Trust(TDT) ambao unatelelezwa hapa manispaa na tumedhamiria kuendesha mafunzo haya ili kuimarisha biashara zao,ufungashaji na namna ya kuendesha biashara na sisi tumegundua ya kwamba ni lazima tuhuishe mafunzo yao na wafundishwe namna ya kufanya biashara kwa ubora zaidi kwenye mitaa na hata nje ya mkoa wa Shinyanga” amesema Bw.Maganga

1. ECONOMIC STRENGHENING

TYC implements an Enhancement of women’s income through soap production project in Ngokolo ward at Shinyanga Municipal Council aimed at increasing income and improving livelihood among women through soap production; the project involved women in retail outlet and those from poor households and enabled them to raise their economic status through soap production activities. Based on the needs assessment conducted by TYC in Ngokolo ward; our findings indicated that women economic activities are on age group; 25-40 years 72.4% out of 60 interviewee are on small business activities; women with 66 years and above not engage in any economic activities because of the facts that are elders

2. MAENDELEO YETU PROJECT ( Women Youth and Women, People with Special needs/ disability)

Tanzanian Youth and Children is implementing a two-year project (2024-2025), the Maendeleo Yetu Project covering three villages of Segese, Isaka Station, and Ntobo ‘A’ at Msalala District Council targeting Women, Youth, and People with Disabilities in the said localities. The Maendeleo Yetu Project aims to empower citizens in three villages of Msalala District Council, focusing on women, people with disabilities, and youth, so that they actively participate in governance, and elections and fighting corruption. Additionally, to improve transparency, accountability, and civic engagement during the upcoming elections, and foster an environment of responsible leadership and responsive governance.

3. FEEDING PROGRAM

support to sustain and expand a vital feeding and support program for 529 orphans and HIV-positive children living in extreme poverty in Shinyanga District, Tanzania. The program is initiated in 2017 and currently led by Jacinter Mene, with assistance from Sir Magreth of the Franciscan Sisters, and focuses on providing nutritional support, scholastic materials, and health insurance coverage for these vulnerable children under this service we formed charitable organization Tanzanian Youth and Children (TYC) to ensure sustainability of the program.

In Segese village total of 144 active strategic citizen interviewed through one to one discussion with youth, women and people with disability; specifically data collection seek to extraction first-hand information from targeted citizens that affect their engagement and participation during elections: socio-economic data affecting women, youth and people with disability in election; targeting to get citizens’ direct information and opinion on election engagement and participation, accountability, transparency, corruption prevalence during election, free and fair election community perception, good governance ideas during upcoming local government election and general election to foster an environment of responsible leaders and responsive government.
